THE ASSEMBLY GOES TO AEGINA

Octopus hanging out to dry in the sun

One day the Assembly went to Aegina for a day of leisure, laying on the beach and swimming. Aegina Island is close to Athens and great for a day trip. We've often gone there in the past. Our favorite place to eat is a sea food tavern right by the beach. My favorite dish is the marinated octopus.

It only takes just over an hour to reach Aegina so it makes a perfect day trip out of the bustle and noise of Athens. Each little port in Greece has a small church dedicated to Agios Nikolaos, the patron saint of sailors. This is the little church at the port of Aegina.
